Date Purchased: 02/2009 Overall Rating: 7/10 Flush Rating: 10/10 Ease of Installation: 8/10 " I previously bought an Ultra-Max WITHOUT Sanagloss (the Toto super-slick glazing) and installed it in one of my bathrooms. The toilet flushes virtually anything down on the first flush. Hooray! But the water surface is too small and for messy poops you trade a one-flush with a quick wipe with a toilet brush on the non-water surfaces. I thought the Sanagloss might be the answer as the flush washes down the sides and I bought the Carlyle that is the Ultra-Max with a smooth skirt (hidden mounting bolts). The extra $50 or so for the Sana-gloss finish made virutally no difference. The installation with the Carlyle is a little more complicated but still was ok. Love the flush. Still unhappy with the water surface. One more bathroom to go and I'm gonna shop for a better alternative. "

Date Purchased: 06/2009 Overall Rating: 2/10 Flush Rating: 7/10 Ease of Installation: 1/10 " Purchased this toilet and am extremely disappointed. The plumber took two hours to install and had to drill through new tile to anchor toilet in place. After a flush and the basion fills the toilet continues to make a rather loud/annoying dripping noise for approx. 40 seconds. TOTO acknowledged a design flaw in the uni-fit sleeve that is causing this dripping. Expensive toilet and if TOTO was aware of this design flaw they should have corrected it by now. Other reviews on Terry Love's Plumbing site refer to this noise also. You can do better by buying another toilet if you have to use the uni-fit sleeve. Don't be led astray by other websites that may be biased towards the purchase of a TOTO toilet. "

Date Purchased: 03/2008 Overall Rating: 10/10 Flush Rating: 10/10 Ease of Installation: 10/10 " This toilet is essentially an Ultramax, but with easier to clean skirted design, and still with awesome GMax flushing. First flush was actually a bit disappointing, no big whirlpool of water, no fuss, just amazing suction and EVERYTHING disappears in less than a second! Soft close seat is cool. Only thing is you must hold handle down for a full flush, but this takes such a short time it's easy to get used to, and the good part is that early release allows part flushes for Number 1. Was a bit worried about installation on a cement floor with the need to drill into concrete, but the included inserts worked great. "
