Date Purchased: 02/2004 Overall Rating: 9/10 Flush Rating: 10/10 Ease of Installation: 8/10 " Looking over the comments, I'm amazed at the range of reactions. Our Toto is has been an excellent toilet since installation. I put it in and have had to replace the toilet seat. Installation was not too bad, but given the design, replacing the seat is tricky but doable. As with other reviewers, I've noticed some dripping noises on occasion. I don’t find the noise intrusive and it stops after only a short time. I like the flushing system which allows for a short flush for urine or a longer flush if needed. Except for the difficult to replace seat situation, I think this toilet is tops. I’d buy another if the need arises. "

Date Purchased: 10/2005 Overall Rating: 5/10 Flush Rating: 9/10 Ease of Installation: 5/10 " It's interesting to know my toilet isn't the only one dripping and making strange noises. I think the toilet is a very nice looking toilet and it does flush great, but after only two years it seems to be having problems. It's been dripping and not filling up, and the bar connected to the flush handle has come loose, which makes it hard to flush. Too many problems for a first class toilet. "

TOTO's 1.28gpf is way better than any other brands 1.6 gpf gravity flush "

Date Purchased: 03/2006 Overall Rating: 3/10 Flush Rating: 4/10 Ease of Installation: 5/10 " Toilet is not what you would expect from TOTO. Refill valve is a piece of junk, expensive to replace, & constantley needs to be replaced even with city water. "

Date Purchased: 09/2002 Overall Rating: 10/10 Flush Rating: 10/10 Ease of Installation: 7/10 " I bought the Toto on the recommendation of the plumber who worked on my master bathroom remodel in 2002. This is the toilet that gets the most use in the house and it is the best toilet I have ever used. I think I had to use a plunger once in the five years that I have had the toilet and that because I was not aware that holding down the flush handle for a couple seconds enables more water to flow through. The toilet handles demanding loads easily and with aplomb. I thought it would be worth while to submit a review about a toilet that has been in constant use for five years, to demonstrate how well it holds up over time. The installation presented a problem only because Toto forgot to include an essential part, and my contractor was stumped for a couple days until he figured out what was wrong, purchased the part and was able to install the toilet easily from there. On the strength of my enthusiastic recommendation, my son purchased three Toto toilets for the new house that they built and moved into last spring. Two of the Totos are installed and the third one will be as soon as my son finishes putting in the master bathroom. He and my daughter-in-law are very pleased with the two Totos that are in use. I should also add that my five year old Toto looks like brand new, and is so easy to keep clean. The soft close seat is another plus. This is a very excellent toilet in all respects! "

Date Purchased: 11/2005 Overall Rating: 9/10 Flush Rating: 9/10 Ease of Installation: 6/10 " Great toilet. Very attractive. Very quick, quiet flush. One thing to note about the skirted toilets...their footprint is a bit bigger, thus if your water supply line comes up from the floor, it will need to be a bit further away. We almost had to break up newly installed tile. So read the product specs carefully! The installation was different from a regular toilet. The bonus piece (for the uni-fit) was a bit challenging to work with...on the other hand, it is what kept us from having to break up our tile. "

Date Purchased: 10/2005 Overall Rating: 10/10 Flush Rating: 10/10 Ease of Installation: 10/10 " This is our second TOTO, installed with the Unifit adapter for a 14 inch rough-in. We have an old house and retrofitting ANYTHING in it is usally a challenge, but these toilets are a breeze to install. Their flushing capability is superb and the smooth skirt makes them easy to keep clean. "

Date Purchased: 11/2006 Overall Rating: 3/10 Flush Rating: 7/10 Ease of Installation: 8/10 " We bought these Toto toilets for our house remodel based on all the rave reviews about their flushing power. They do flush pretty well though after a week's use I already had on plug up with what seemed like normal use. Although the flush is pretty good I have some major gripes with this toilets. The main one being that both of our toilets run, gurgle, drip, hiss, wheeze and generally make all sorts of strange noises day and night. Jiggling the handle does not help and re-flushing may or may not. If you flush it enough times it eventually quietens. Our plumber is mystified. With an ordinary toilet I can fix this problem myself but these things are a mystery. The other thing I dont like is the side handle that you have to lift and hold to flush, instead of just pushing down a handle and releasing you really have to hold this handle up to make sure it flushed properly. With the handle on the side you have to be bent over holding the handle while you wait to make sure. It's just a bad design. These are expensive toilets and really not worth the money in my opinion. "
