" Easy install, high quality porcelain castings, excellent flush and poor bowl cleaning. For whatever reason the bowl cleaning is very poor. The two Eljer Titans we have are superior in bowl cleaning and equal in flushing ability. Unfortunately the Titan is no longer manufactured. "

" we replaced both of our old toilets because they were cracked. They would plug every once in a while. We just love our new Toto's they flush like no-bodys business....haven't had a plug yet. they use hardly any water and they are quiet. Best of all they absolutely flush anything you load it with....I am surprised how well they work....love them... If I would have known how great they were, I would have bought them years ago.....there is nothing that compares to the toto toilets.....absolutely nothing else on the market comes close. "

" Great flush and stays looking new. However, the fill valves will fail if there is a spike in water pressure. We had 3 drake toilets and all 3 valves failed. TOTO has redesigned the valve and is sending us 3 new ones at no charge (except the plumber.) Good customer service and warranty. "

" Great toilet. We have been replacing all of the old toilets in our house with the Toto Drake. Our old toilets were from the 1960's, didnt flush well and used a lot of water with every flush. We love the taller height, much more comfortable than standard height and we have never had a problem with flushing. "

" The ADA Drake is very tall. I would only recommend ADA over reg height if majority of users are over 6' tall or have physical limitations. The Cotton color is VERY white; recommend the Colonial color instead. Flush and refill is great. Check to make sure that your water pressure is set correctly- this could help with the refill speed. "

" We wanted the best toilet made.I got the Toto Drake in ADA style. This is my second one. I like how quiet these are. We also like the '' variable flush '' where a quick push of the handle empties liquid waste and holding the handle longer empties solid waste. "

" Our water supplier had a special deal so we replaced our four toilets with 2 Toto toilets and 2 Kohler toilets. After more than 2 years living with them...we say Kohler makes a much better toilet! End. "

" Replaced two of my Gerber 1.6 gpf toilets with Drake 1.28 gpf highboys with soft-close seats. Did this after using the newly-installed TOTO toilets at my friend's house.Used to have to plunge my master Gerber a few times a month and had difficulty standing back up due to the Gerber's lower seats. The TOTO Drakes are the most royal of "thrones" I have been "privy" to use. They are the "Top of the Line" per my plumber,who replaced both in less than an hour. I agree with him. "

" Had this professionally installed and it leaked from the start. Leak was from bolt holes tank to bowl. Casting is rough in this area so be sure to inspect and sand on the inside where the rubber washer sits before installation. Check area around valve opening also. This producet gets ding from me since this is an old known problem with casting. Otherwise overall I'd rate it a 9-10. "

" Installed the ADA one and it was quite eas, had trouble with it rocking a little but that was the floor. I installed this yesterday and am still tighting the tank a little at a time. I am being careful cause I did crack a tank some years ago. I realize that I am squeezing down on a soft rubber gasket to get to the 3 touch points, it just doesn't feel right. It flushes beautiful but it's first attempt at removing soild waste failed. It stopped up but was easily cleared with a plunger. This is not odd for me as I have stopped up commerical toilets. Being 6'3 inch and 250 lbs. has it's drawbacks, this being one of them. I installed it in a small bathroom and it is a monster. The white is striking with a black seat. "

" After changing one old 5-gal toilet to a 1.6 gal and having flush problems, I decided on a toto ADA for the height. I regret it. I checked the dimensions and the toto length was only about 1/2 in. with long bowl longer than the old toilet(all that was available. The old tank fit properly to the wall. The toto is 3 in. from the wall and sticks out nearly 4 in further than the old one -it looks like crap. Again I wish I bought a 17 in. of a different brand "

" I ran into these toilets in Japan and thought they were wonderful. I replaced a Kohler with the Drake and the difference is just great. Always flushes, never clogs, quiet, powerful, super. Also, I have only 11-1/2 rough and it went in very nicely with room to spare. Great product, thanks to all members of this list for helping me decide on this toilet. I had a little trouble on the install because it seemed like a lot of tension required to get the tank to sit on the bowl. I was fearful of bearing down on the screws, but once I did, all was great. No problems once I had the guts to put the wrench to it. Flushed in Fresno. "

" We needed an ADA toilet on short notice for a family member with rheumatoid arthritis, so I let the local plumbing company talk me into a Kohler Cimarron because it was in stock. What a mistake! I knew from other reviews that the bowl wash might not be ideal, but this was impossible! I'm not willing to clean after every use. Yuck. Turns out the plumbing company was able to get me a Drake within 24 hours, and did when I insisted. Had to pay for installation twice as well as the non-discounted price of the Toto, so this was an expensive mistake, but so worth it. The Drake is great, everything that the Kohler isn't. It flushes everything on the first flush, no installation problems, and stays as clean as our old water-hogs did, which is to say that it does require cleaning, but not too often. I will be installing Totos in all the bathrooms of our house. One tip for others who might have handicapped persons in their home: the flush action on all of the new low-flow toilets is stiff, too hard for someone with rheumatoid arthritis. We started with a foot pedal ($30.), which worked well but was still too hard on her knee. We then added a wireless automatic flusher from a third party supplier ($175.), which solved the problem wonderfully. If you have small kids, this might also work for you. Auto-flushing works great and keeps things fresh. "

" With my old 5 gallon toilet, I put the plunger to use once or twice a week. Since installing the Toto ADA Drake, I have moved the plunger to the garage. One word of warning though, don't put your arm in the bowl when you flush. You just might get sucked down the pipe. This toilet is unbelievable. "

" I beg to differ re: 'been tested to perform as one of the top two or three toilet models on the market' & 'G-Max flush (ranked 1st out of TOTO's 4 flushes)...' Owned the toilet for 2 wks & experienced extreme difficulty to accomplish the specific task of a toilet: to 'flush' all items in the bowl. Even following 2-3 flushes, it was necessary to slice/chop solid items to enable a completed flush. " Much better flush than the Kohlers I have. Was stuck once in 1 1/2 years. However, I is harder to clear with a plunger because of its shape. Also usually requires a second flush to clean the sidewalls. This is due to the low amount of water used in today's toilets. "

" I have two of these and still have yet to experience a single clog! Even on the first day when we decided to dump half a roll of toliet paper in (for fun) and it had no problem clearing it in a single flush. It probably will take the whole roll, but I'm not sure where my plunger is anymore, haven't seen it in nearly 4 years.
Also, it's a VERY quiet and quick flush. Literally, it's over in 2 seconds, but without the sound of jet engines and water spraying all over the place, like the pressure-assist toilets out there. "

" I have been VERY disappointed with the 2 Drake toilets we bought. We purchased them on a recommendation from someone because they were aware of our problems with clogged toilets. We have 4 children and we averaged 2 or 3 clogs each week before buying these toilets. We bought these because they had the most powerful flush and enlarged drainage, to try to decrease the clogs. We clog with waste , not with paper. Yes, we now do clog less, on average only once every 7-10 days, but in the past it was easy to plunge the toilet free of waste, these toilets are a NIGHTMARE to plunge. Because of the shape / contour of the bottom of the toilet, it is incredibly difficult to get a seal with the plunger and I now spend literally 10 times the time trying to plunge and I often have to plunge for several days in a row to clear waste when it clogs. I called customer service and asked if they could recommend a plunger that works......they were no help at all. It was a very bad purchase for my family. "

" Nearly a disaster. At first the tank didn't fit correctly and it leaked. Then the china cracked when it was tightened. I bought some marine adhesive and patched it, and now it works fine with no leaks. "

" I am partially disabled and had a tough time negotiating toilets that ranged from 13 1/2 inch to 15 inch . I hated raised toilet devices beause of their apperance and non-hygiene. I ordered 5 Toto Drake Max height toilets and replaced all of the existing toilets in my house, as well as at a beach house. At the risk of sounding anal, I LOVE my new toilets...they look good, they flush super and I an negotiated them with ease. Installation was extremely easy for me....I called my pumbers who did them all 5 in 3 hours! I also favor the soft-close seats. "

" My wife had hip surgery and I researched all the brands for the best unit for her needs. This is an excellent toilet in all aspects and in fact we actually miss it when away from home. Sitting on a low toilet after having this unit in our home is painful. Strongly recommend the quiet close lid, no more slamming toilet seats in my house. 10 out of 10. "

" I got this primarily as a replacement toilet but am extremely happy with the height. i have both a handicapped auntie and a elderly grandma and it is sooooo helpful being high. " We bought this toilet to replace a Kohler Rialto low profile toilet that never really had a strong flush. Hookup was a breeze. When I first flushed, I thought that something was wrong because the flush took all of 3 seconds to complete, however after checking everything, I found that this was correct and the flush was strong enough to take care of business. After using it a week we have had no problems and are very happy with the purchase. I recommend this toilet. "
